ESCORPIO - MOTOR
The choice has led us to use a Maxon motor Series RE 200W, even if in reality, from the first simulations, it was necessary to provide a second motor.
After the first tests, however, it was clear that the torque needed could be supplied by a single motor with a gear ratio slightly shorter, so the seat of the second motor was empty again.
The electric motor is the DC brush-type strips.
The choice of the motor was made using a software that allowed us to find the correct gear to maximize the efficiency of the motor.
Under ideal conditions we have calculated that the main passive resistance that the motor has to overcome are: the friction with the air (53%), the rolling friction of tires on asphalt (45%) and friction in the pinion wheel conduct (2%).
On the basis of the calculations the torque that the motor must provide is approximately 0.8 Nm
